LYONS RETREAT
‘Lyons Retreat’ looks across to the humble cottage that was the birthplace of the country’s only Tasmanian born Prime Minister – Joseph Lyons. The character and aspect of the room evoke empathetic imaginings of how Lyons may have spent his first tumultuous years within the cottage and how the home and his family life shaped his destiny.
Beneath the constant vigil of The Nut, the cottage next door was where the formative years of his early childhood played out. Bookended by opposing elemental landscapes – one like a fortress and the other like the open arms of a lover – his pragmatism and ambition was sparked within the walls which represented the very definition of home.

Each tastefully decorated suite features an ensuite, kitchenette with a toaster, coffee pod machine, kettle, microwave, bar fridge and crockery. Your stay includes a simple continental breakfast of fresh baked bread, Tasmanian jams & leatherwood honey, toasted muesli, rhubarb compote, poached apple, Greek yoghurt, milk, juice, and a selection of artisan Tasmanian teas and coffee pods.
