The history of the building is poignantly tied into its own persona that borrows from the Ghost of Old John Peacock – the presence of a man who spent countless hours within the same space a century ago, watching the tempestuous seas of Stanley as he waited for his love to join his from distant Europe more than 150 years ago. It is said he still waits…
With sumptuous velvet couches, luxurious leather chairs and cozy corners to spend time in front of the fire, this lounge is sure to provide a place of refuge for Ship Inn Stanley guests. The large round window looking up to the Nut or the stunning views of the sea provide a perfect backdrop to enjoy this stunning space. The lounge also boasts an undercover outdoor patio with ample seating, a dramatic stone water feature under the watchful eye of the Nut and a huge undercover dining table. There is a kitchenette and coffee and tea making facilities as well as an outdoor stone patio to soak in the sea views.
