If you’re wondering what types of luxury accommodation Tasmania has to offer, then the choices are varied. We have stunning big city hotels, eco resorts and luxurious farm stays, as well as the small boutique offerings scattered throughout the State. The Ship Inn Stanley is one such venue, offering luxury accommodation in Tasmania.
Painstakingly restored over twelve months with a team of local artisans and trades, the Ship Inn Stanley has relaunched itself in true luxury as a stylish story-telling inn. The building is over 170 years old and has seen the comings and going of life in a small fishing village, and now offers a different experience, whilst still respecting the history within these walls.
Think beautiful Salus toiletries, fluffy towels, beautiful linen, sumptuous mattress toppers and feather and down pillows, and custom kitchenettes in each of the seven ensuite rooms. The décor is luxurious, and a combination of vintage and modern, utilizing the owner’s extensive artwork collection and a mix of nautical and antique artifacts to bring history alive.
The story telling adds yet another dimension to your stay, with each suite embracing a local story, with engaging words bringing history alive. A local artist was commissioned to create a custom art piece outside each suite, and these rest on a handcrafted Tasmanian timber shelf, with the first story board enhancing the mood for the suite.
The stay is enhanced by the provision of a luxurious breakfast of freshy baked Vienna bread, cereals, Tasmanian yoghurts, two-fruits, juice, and coffee and tea facilities. All provided for guests to enjoy in the privacy of their suite. A true Tasmanian luxury accommodation experience, to sleep in and slowly potter around your suite before heading out for the day.
The old stone stables have been converted into a gym, yoga studio and complimentary guest laundry. The views from the gym and studio evoke a bygone era, with red fishing boats, the bay and old stone buildings of the port famed by the hills and never-ending sky.
There are no gold taps or granite bench tops, rather the luxury is evoked through the organic textures, sumptuous comfort and vintage and modern styling. The location is incredible, with the inn backing up to the giant stone Nut of Stanley and nestled within the fishing so that amenities are a short stroll away. This is a true story-telling inn and we encourage you to come and be part of the story at Ship Inn Stanley.
